Game of Thrones is roughly based on the George RR Martin novel “A Song of Ice and Fire”. It is set in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and the continent of Essos. The series follows violent struggles amongst the realms noble families for The Iron Throne. Other families fight for their independence from The Iron Throne.
